In
order to function well, a church must have a committed staff ready
to do the work God has given us to do, as well as ministry teams
which work to carry out the larger mission of both St. Stephen's
and the Church in general.
The Rector (known
as "senior pastor" in many Christian traditions) of St. Stephen's
serves as the senior ordained leader of our congregation, and
leads Sunday worship. He or she is also available for pastoral
care and crisis ministry.
The
Reverend Stephen W. Hagerman
In August 2004, St.
Stephen's welcomed the Reverend Steven W.
Hagerman as the new rector of our church. Father Hagerman
and his family came to us from Riverside, Rhode Island, where
he served at St. Mark's Episcopal Church since 1995. Father
Hagerman is a graduate of Southern Illinois University and the
Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA. He
was ordained in Chicago in 1982 and has served in parishes in
Chicago, Pennsylvania, and Missouri, and in a ministry to the
deaf in New York.
The Parish Secretary
at St. Stephen's is Mrs. Irene Mc Entee. Irene is available in
the office Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. All questions
regarding calendar, building use, announcements for the Sunday
bulletin, and/or parish functions should be directed to her. She
can be reached via email at: st_stephens@verizon.net
The
Archivist and parish historian for St. Stephen's is Ms.
Jean Sunday. All questions regarding cemetery plots, parish history,
genealogical records, or parish archives should be directed to
Jean.
The
Director of Music and Organist/Choirmaster for St. Stephen's
is Mr. Donald Chandler. Don directs the Senior Choir. He
conducts sight-singing classes on an as-needed basis and guides
younger members in a learning process based on the curriculum
established by the Royal School of Church Music. He also
directs a Youth Instrumental Ensemble seasonally.
